Amstrad
plc awarded order to supply set top boxes to Italy

Amstrad plc announced today
an order to supply digital satellite set top boxes to the Italian broadcaster,
Sky Italia. Shipments are scheduled to commence in the next financial
year.
Sky Italia operates a digital TV service for the Italian market with
over 100 TV and audio channels. The company is 80.1% owned by News
Corp and 19.9% by Telecom Italia.
Amstrad's Commercial Director Simon Sugar said today: "The
Italian market is a very important fast growing digital TV market and
we are very pleased to have been awarded this order to supply Sky Italia.
This capitalises on our extensive experience in the UK digital satellite
market and demonstrates our ability to successfully obtain new business
in mainland Europe where there is significant potential for growth" |
